Reviews from Letterboxd

  1. cinemafreak★★★★☆
“Visually arresting and hauntingly beautiful. Daimajin’s vengeance is slow-building, but when the stone god awakens, it’s absolutely mesmerizing. A hidden gem of kaiju cinema.”

  2. SanityClause★★★★☆
“It’s like a samurai film fused with Godzilla, and it works brilliantly. The human drama is surprisingly engaging and the final act is thunderous. Atmospheric and unique.”

  3. kenjac★★★☆☆
“A bit sluggish in the first half, but the payoff is worth the wait. The fusion of feudal politics with fantasy horror makes it stand out among 60s monster flicks.”

  4. wellesca★★★★☆
“The design of Daimajin is unforgettable—mythic, imposing, terrifying. The special effects hold up better than expected and the themes of justice and wrath still resonate.”

  5. tokyojoe★★★★☆
“Slow burn but totally worth it. That ending—majestic, violent, and cathartic. Daimajin is a god you don’t want to anger.”
