“Mandy the Haunted Doll is pretty funny. A good olde low budget movie that tries its best with what it has, but can’t quite hold it together. The cinematographer captured really close close ups of the actors and the editor then mostly just uses those shots, so when you do get a wide shot you can finally breath. The script itself does not really make much sense. Those robbers want to rob this old ladies house, so they send our lead character in for a baby sitting job to scout it out. Turns out who they are baby sitting, is the haunted doll. But for some reason she decides to make her friends wait outside in the car when she takes a bath and a nap? Once they start robbing the place, they then wait for the contact to come to the house with a bag of money to buy the jewelry (which look like plastic jewelry). Like, why are there so many middle men in this robbing business, if the lady with the cash is coming to the house anyway why is she paying these guys. Anyway, I’m sure it was written this way to have more victims for our haunted doll. As for the haunted doll, you can tell there is a hand off screen anytime it moves around. They do some cool POV shots and the doll itself looks pretty good. The voice acting for the doll is a bit cringy though as it tries to cry and do creepy laughter. Some of the actors in the film are so over the top with their delivery it is awesome. One of my favorite scenes is when the old lady returns back from her outing and does these exaggerated movements when she has noticed the haunted doll has awaken. The score for the film goes pretty hard though and is the strongest aspect of the film. So props for the composer for giving it his all to bring the vibe and enhance what is on screen. Overall, this is not the best made movie. But I had a good time watching it. I was entertained and laughing along with it, so that’s a win in my book. If you are a fan of so bad so good low budget horror flicks, give it a watch.”

    “Micro-budget dreck. Just terrible.”

“There’s 20 minutes left in this movie? What are you gonna do for 20 more minutes?! I was looking for a killer toy movie that wasn’t Full Moon or Hollywood, and I found this. I’m not sure what it is but it seems to be an independent UK film. In 1910 this kid named Mandy was locked in a closet in an abandoned church by some bullies. Over the course of a week, she froze to death in there. Her ghost then moved into the doll she was clutching when she died. And now, we have Mandy the Haunted Doll, and she’s still kickin it here in present day.”
