Aberrant Ghoul – ★☆☆☆☆
“Ugh. For a movie called Tokyo Psycho, this was pretty dull. It mostly felt like some daytime soap opera garbage. Sure, there was one kinda interesting scene, where the guy shows up at the door wearing a woman’s face, before pulling it off and tossing it on the ground. But the effect is so poorly executed that it just comes off comical. Meh.” -
J.V. Jowett – ★☆☆☆☆
“Pretty rough, and not in the good way. The film never manages to hook the viewer in. The mystery is banal, the horror is trite, and the ending fizzles. The film just sort of happens without any ceremony or interest and managed to not even meet my low expectations.” -
OldManChimes – ★★☆☆☆
“This had a few ideas and then padded the shit out of them. It’s a generic stalker film really without much happening to set it apart. One or two moments of gore are decent but it’s a boring-looking film and the villain is very annoying and unconvincing. Meh.” -
WilMunny – ★★★☆☆
“Tokyo Psycho is a captivating film that kept me engaged from start to finish. The filmmakers did an excellent job in creating an intriguing plot that had me invested in finding out who was stalking Yumiko, the owner of a beautiful design agency, after she received a strange letter from a stalker. The film was satisfying to watch, and I was never bored throughout it. I had no expectations going in, but the filmmakers surpassed what I could have imagined with the story they had to work with. The puzzle on the front of the DVD case was a nice bonus that added to the overall experience. Not to mention it was directed by the Tomei director Ataru Oikawa.” -
Izzy Torres – ★★☆☆☆
“This one was just okay. I didn’t find anything that spectacular about the movie. The film was a bit slow at times, but it had a few genuinely tense moments.”
