Reviews from Letterboxd:
-
Wiccaburr – ★★★½
“Alapaap certainly plays it off as a movie that won’t go full tilt until you get into the finale. This movie might be a bit slow at the start but it picks up once the cast encounters a haunted place with a vengeful ghost. The effects look low budget but worked well with the atmosphere given.” -
Mazinkaiser – ★★★
“Ghosts are a helluva drug.” -
Pangzi – ★★½
“It’s hard to imagine a movie that ends with a bloody shootout and still manages to be boring. But Alapaap delivers that and more. Love triangle, r@pe revenge, ghosts, and a haunted house in the hills. None of it sticks or makes sense, but kudos for the effort.” -
Steve G – ★★½
“It’s not as insane as I hoped. There’s too much plot and too little pay-off. I’m still glad I watched it, but this is strictly for Filipino genre film completionists.” -
Brundlefly – ★★★
“A dreamy mix of folk horror and drug-fueled paranoia. Some trippy visuals in the third act and a wild shift in tone. Messy, but interesting.”
