Reviews from Letterboxd:

  1. Kaijuman – ★★★★☆ “Don’t let that title fool you, Horror Hotline… Big Head Monster isn’t campy in any way. This is a masterly crafted slow-build nightmare that delves into something that’s best left unknown.”

  2. Adrian Oli – ★★★★☆ “A real good horror flick from Hong Kong finally. Really a well-written and well-directed solid horror flick; most importantly, it’s genuinely spooky and scary as well. Must watch.”

  3. Soumajit Nath – ★★★☆☆ “This macabre narrative extends an invitation to the audience, drawing them into a world where the line between reality and nightmare becomes disturbingly elusive.”

Reviews from Letterboxd:

  1. MontyMole – ★★½
“A low-budget Hong Kong crime-action film with plenty of action but a weak story. Tries to mimic 48 Hours but lacks depth. The long sex scenes feel unnecessary and slow down the pacing. Typical of late 80s/early 90s low-budget HK cinema, with rough execution but some fun moments.”

  2. paultaggart – ★★½
“Normal folk would give this zero, but HK fanatics of this era will enjoy it. A low-budget 48 Hours rip-off with tons of great action, dubious humor, and some nudity. Shing Fui-On literally takes a dump on screen, Kara Hui has an extended cameo, and the ending has a shockingly out-of-nowhere joke.”
