sydney – ★★★★
“Half of this is a bunch of chicks just hanging out and bantering and the other half is neon pink/blue computer graphic’d nightmares caused by a demon crystal. There’s a hilarious creepy antique dealer who wears round sunglasses and a beret and has two big scary dogs, and seances, and a guy in a rubber monster suit chasing people, and Richard Band-style muzak, and so much denim and big bad 90’s hair… so on one hand yes it’s lame low-budget horror trash but on the other hand look at that poster!!! This is the greatest film ever made!!!” -
Evan Wrye – ★★½
“Bit of a snoozer but has its charm.” -
Nick Bentz – ★★★
“Cheesy early 90s erotic thriller with a satanist demon/interdimensional creature angle that just captures the aesthetic of the time in such a roundabout way. While the movie is generally not great, the feel and general execution is super coherent, and it gets a lot of style points. Who knew that buying crystals was so dangerous? Very rad poster.” -
JacobhasaLB – ★
“This is like ‘The Big Chill’, but instead of being about a bunch of boring white people, it’s about a bunch of boring white people who sometimes have sex.” -
HorrorSage – ★½
“Crystal demon and a sexy babe, why yes that does happen once in the movie. Too bad most of the movie is just some girls having the most boring and inane conversations over a seance. A few sex scenes, yeah, but a lot of them are so darkly lit you can’t really see anything. The monster looks cool, and it does kill like 2 people, in the last 3 minutes. The best part of the movie is the dumpy curio owner who only speaks in rhyme. He’s got some good puppers at least.”
