Reviews from Letterboxd:

  1. Marcio Il Nero – ★½
“Exploitation in its rawest form. S&xual violence, people being beaten, and an overall atmosphere of brutality.”
  2. Pedro Von Dentz – ★★★
“The film’s sociopolitical background shows a disturbing part of Hong Kong history, and although Lost Souls is obviously problematic, whatever evil scene Tun Fei Mou put on the screen, it was much, much worse in real life.”
  3. bloodzboi – ★★★★★
“Director Mou is known for challenging audience limits and tackling taboo subjects. Lost Souls is, in my opinion, his most iconic work, and also one of the most brutal exploitation films ever made.”
