Reviews from Letterboxd:

  1. Lou (rhymes with wow!) – ★★★½
“The opening sequence of Ghostly Vixen has evil spirit Amy Yip sucking the soul out of her 98th virgin victim by way of blowjob. Afterwards, a spirit hunter chases her with his lightsword but she manages to get away. The movie then forgets that it is a supernatural comedy for almost 50 minutes and focuses on the love life of our hero (who was introduced to us by berating/assaulting multiple women). In the third act the movie returns to ghostly territory for a final showdown with some nice 80’s visual effects. Fairly middle-of-the-road Hong Kong fantasy fare.”
  2. PenguinBoss – ★★★★
“There’s generally two types Hong Kong humor, cutesy and stupid. I’ve always felt personally if you’re gonna go the stupid route, go REALLY stupid and add a nice layer of bad taste on top of it. Director Wellson Chin understands this sentiment very well and I appreciate that. I wish this wasn’t 100 minutes long but I laughed too hard and too often to not give it this score, just a whirlwind of insanity. Chin taps into a level of aggressive stupidity that I never thought was possible. This movie and The Inspector Wears Skirts IV make Wong Jing look like Johnnie To.”
  3. EvilVegan – ★★★
“A middle down the road supernatural comedy. I don’t see a movie with this kind of plot getting made in 2022. I still say check it out.”
