Reviews from Letterboxd:
-
kylegoeswild – ★★★★☆
“A perfect blend of 90s anime grit and cool crime-action vibes. The car chases are ridiculously well-animated, and Rally and May are just badass. Feels like Miami Vice filtered through bubble-era Japan.” -
OldKingClancy – ★★★☆☆
“Short and sweet. Great animation and car porn galore. The plot isn’t super deep, but it’s all style and vibes—and honestly, that’s more than enough here.” -
YuriReviews – ★★★☆☆
“Rally is cool, May is chaotic, and the gun fetishism is strong. Doesn’t overstay its welcome, though some of the side characters don’t get enough to do.” -
StygianMuse – ★★★★☆
“A badass women-led action anime that could go toe-to-toe with any American buddy cop film from the 80s. Stylish, sleek, and surprisingly grounded.” -
screentonejunkie – ★★★★☆
“Gunsmith Cats is a tight, compact blast of girls, guns, and high-speed pursuits. It wears its Western influences proudly, but never loses its anime charm.”
