Reviews from Letterboxd:
- Stein Rutledal – ★★★☆☆
“Rolling Thunder re-view. See Paul Schrader channeled by Turkish shlock masters. Cüneyt Arkın returns home from the war? A war. It’s beat for beat the same stuff except Cüneyt Arkın kills more people and throws more kicks. Turkish Tommy Lee Jones does not get the best line of the movie, not that I could tell without subs, with the ‘I’m gonna kill a bunch of people’ moment having zero dialogue here. Highlights: – Cüneyt Arkın gets his right hand cut off and then it cuts to shot of a severed left hand. – Cüneyt Arkın storms into a room where a bad guy is having sex and shoots him 8 times with a shotgun, – Cüneyt Arkın stabs a guy in the crotch with his hook and we get this gnarly low angle shot of blood pouring from the scrotum.”
- Pascal Grenier – ★★½☆
“Fun Rolling Thunder-rip off. Cüneyt Arkın was born to play these type of roles. The ending is packed with lots of slo mo shootouts.”
