FalonGrey – ★★★★½
“Pros: 1. The film is shot exceedingly well, and it looks stunning. Particular shots stand out, such as the trebuchet bombardment scene. 2. The score helps to add so much weight to every scene, as well as being beautiful to listen to. 3. The dialogue is captivating, and even incorporates some Old English which is a nice touch.” -
katie kadue – ★★★☆☆
“Early in the film Hotspur, inciting Hal to hand-to-hand combat, shouts “Where be the big dog?”, and thenceforth whenever someone said “king” I mentally substituted “big dog.” On the one hand, David Michôd’s The Big Dog brings new meaning to the phrase “it’s not Shakespeare.” On the other, I loved the French twists of Timothée and Lily-Rose connecting as half-French actors speaking half in French and, of course, Robert Pattinson’s idea (?) of what a 15th-century English stereotype of a dauphin would be if filtered through Twilight fan fiction. -

“the average rating of this shows how much people suck.” -
hzlhazmat – ★★☆☆☆
“Compare that to the spectacular coming-of-age story that the Bard conjured up and the narrative falls flat like a mounted knight on the fields of Agincourt not because of what it did do, but what it could have done. Timmy KILLED IT and in 2019 that s&x was crazy but after:”
