Plot Synopsis
Late one evening in San Francisco, a group of teens gathers beneath the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge to party — unaware that a hive of grotesque, themed killers lie in wait. As night falls, the “Neon Maniacs” emerge: a motley crew of biker, samurai, decapitator, and other monster archetypes, each stalking the unsuspecting youths. Reviews from Letterboxd:

  1. CriterionFan — ★★★★
“A delightfully bonkers 80s monster mash with practical effects that out-pace its narrative logic.”

  2. RetroHorrorJunkie — ★★★
“The killer ideas are wild, but the pacing and coherence leave you wanting. Still fun if you embrace the chaos.”

  3. MidnightGorehound — ★★★★½
“Monsters dressed like a Village People tribute with an R-rated slasher soundtrack. Campy gold.”

  4. SlashNights — ★★★
“It’s stupidly obvious from the first kill, but sometimes that’s exactly what you’re in the mood for.”

  5. CultCorner — ★★★★★
“Underrated cult classic: twelve themed maniacs, water-weakness, and a San Fran backdrop? Yes please.”

Meta Description: A campy, blood-soaked 1980s horror ride where themed monsters erupt from beneath the Golden Gate Bridge and a lone survivor fights disbelief and carnage — Neon Maniacs is gory, outrageous and unapologetically absurd.
