Reviews from Letterboxd:

  1. CinemaLover – ★★★☆☆
“An early German musical with glimpses of Litvak’s future directorial prowess. The film employs montage and moving camera techniques to enhance its simple narrative. While the lead pairing of Liedtke and Harvey may seem mismatched, Harvey’s performance brings charm to the screen. Margo Lion’s rendition in the sailor’s tavern is a standout moment.”
  2. FilmFanatic – ★★★★☆
“A delightful German take on the classic tale of a man swearing off women, only to find love unexpectedly. The humor and musical numbers, especially those by Mischa Spoliansky, add to its appeal. Felix Bressart’s portrayal of the concerned valet is both comedic and endearing.”
  3. RetroFilmBuff – ★★★☆☆
“The story is predictable, but the performances, particularly Harvey’s, make it worthwhile. The humor is hit-or-miss, but when it lands, it’s genuinely funny. A charming time capsule from early German cinema.”
  4. GoldenAgeFan – ★★★★☆
“The production design and music are wonderful, capturing the charm of 1930s musicals. The romantic subplot feels a little rushed, but overall, it’s a feel-good movie with a unique premise.”
  5. KinoLover – ★★★★☆
“Nie wieder Liebe is a beautiful blend of humor and romance, wrapped in a charming musical package. Lilian Harvey shines as always, and the ensemble cast elevates the film’s simple but effective story.”
