Psycho Girls (1985)
andrewlockhart – ★★★☆☆
“Classic lo-fi Canadian slasher sleaze. Not much gore, but very heavy on bizarre mood and weird editing. The musical cues are hilariously over-the-top. It’s oddly charming for how trashy it is.”
biggoblinboy – ★★☆☆☆
“There’s a strange mix of soap opera melodrama and cheap horror movie kills. Nothing makes sense, but that’s also kind of the appeal. So weird it’s watchable.”
manwithahat – ★★★☆☆
“Unhinged and awkward in a way that makes you want to root for it. It feels like the fever dream of a late-night TV movie. Everyone’s screaming and the plot is pure chaos.”
rottenvhs – ★★★☆☆
“Low-budget oddity with some surprisingly fun sequences. The asylum scenes are weirdly effective, and the ending is just bonkers. Total VHS vibes.”
ultrasatan – ★★☆☆☆
“You can see what they were going for, but it’s all a bit too incoherent to land. That said, the synth score rips and there’s definitely some memorable madness.”
