Smokin_garfield – ★★★½
“Masacre Nocturna managed to shock me. After the video toaster-generated credits, I was expecting another classic Mexican shot-on-video pseudo-horror. Seconds in, I saw it: speckles of film grain! Our first story involves a little bit of Phantom of the Opera only this Phantom doesn’t just have a little poo-poo in his face. He looks like me first thing in the morning!” -
COBB – ★★
“A bizarre anthology where the length of its segments is indirectly proportional to the fun they provide. After a somewhat dense first course, the second is a home invasion without much substance but nice. To finish off the stellar dessert where a married couple has their usual arguments while the husband tries to hunt and take revenge on the monster that scared him as a child (spoiler alert: his relationship with Bigfoot ends up being better than with his wife).” -
cheddabrown – ★★★
“A Mexican horror anthology that gives us a phantom of the opera, ‘dracula’ rip off, AND bigfoot? F*** yea. Typical low budget Mexican TV movie look, but you can’t go wrong with bigfoot karate chopping foos heads off and a Mexican rendition of the phantom of the opera (not really, but kind of) that looks like a Fulci zombie complete with face ripping effects.”
