   “Jeff Lau’s balls-to-the-wall exhausting madcap style is fully formed right out of the gate, co-written with Wong Kar-Wai back when he knew how to have a little fun. Movies like this are a treasure because they were made at a certain period when Hong Kong movies were primarily for Hong Kong audiences. We are on the outside, looking in, while the movie riffs a culture and character unique to that time and place. And I love that.”

   “This was listed as a hopping vampire flick and sadly it was not! Far from it, the vampires in this film have been heavily influenced by western cinema! It is an 80’s Hong Kong classic co-written by Wong Kar Wai! He also made a brief appearance in the film as well! Considering the high caliber films he has put out in recent years I was shocked to find out he was involved with this campy-palooza Dracula flick!”
