Reviews from Letterboxd:

  1. Matt Winfield – ★★★☆☆
“2024 – Year of the Fulci – Movie #10. Another musical/comedy from Fulci, again with Adriano Celentano in the lead. This time playing a double role as both his celebrity self, and as a hunchbacked, slack-jawed, dumb-witted simpleton who pretends to be Adriano for the fame. And here I thought one was more than enough… ugh. This started off pretty bad. Celentano isn’t the greatest actor or funniest dude, and putting him front and center in a double role is a bit much. The first half of this is pretty rough, with a lot of unfunny jokes and gags that don’t land. But, as it went on, it started to win me over. The second half is much better, with some genuinely funny moments and a few decent musical numbers. It’s still not great, but it’s a marked improvement over the first half. Overall, it’s a mixed bag. If you’re a fan of Fulci or Celentano, it’s worth a watch, but don’t expect too much.”
