SubToretto – ★★★★
“The entire runtime is madcap glory, brimming with creativity in both camera technique, budgeted effects, choreography, and mile-a-minute plotting. But nothing could have prepared me for such a surprising, hilarious, and applaud-worthy final twenty seconds that left me dumbfounded, elated, and on the verge of uncontrollable laughter.” -
Carlo V – ★★★★
“Live-action cartoon from (and starring!) fan favorite action director Tony Leung Siu-Hung is 100% my kind of nonsense. Leung plays a guy who eats a magic pigeon, gets struck by lightning, and somehow this succession of events enables him to fly and shoot electricity out of his hands like Raiden from Mortal Kombat.” -
Justin Decloux – ★★★★
“A forgotten barnburner of a wuxia with the energy and visual palette of a Saturday Morning cartoon. Tony Leung Siu-Hung (an amazing action director) directs and stars as a country bumpkin who eats a magical pigeon, gets struck by lightning, and gains the power to fire off energy blasts.” -
James – ★★★★
“Had a great time with this. And I thought I ran out of insane bonkers 80s Shaw. Thanks to the GGTMC for bringing this to my attention.” -
Wong Ka Yan – ★★★½
“Katak yang dicium petir — dari bencana ganda, lahir pendekar pengendali kilat.”
(Translation: A frog kissed by lightning — from double disaster, was born a thunder-controlling hero.)
