Reviews from Letterboxd:

  1. RafaelJovine – ★★★½
“So, have you ever wondered what would happen if Sam Raimi directed Bedazzled, brought in the Evil Dead influences in a third act, and had the Space Invaders video game as its special guest? That’s how I’d describe this film. John Woo goes wild with slapstick and practical effects. Some of Ricky Hui’s reactions are a bit too much, but it’s a crazy creative ride nonetheless.”

  2. RyanSmallwood – ★★★½
“Another ridiculous John Woo comedy, and also his wackiest treatment of his Christian themes. The finale turns into Space Invaders out of nowhere with scoreboard and everything. The kind of ‘anything goes’ film only Hong Kong cinema could deliver.”

  3. CaptainCouth – ★★★★
“An entertaining version of Bedazzled. Ricky Hui plays Bruce Lee (not the fighter!) who makes a deal with a devil’s minion to become a pop star. Typical John Woo chaos and action—even in a comedy. Recommended for Woo and Hui fans.”
