Reviews from Letterboxd:

threepenny – ★★★½
“Our ‘Lady Bond’ Lily Ho starts out dancing in a bikini and wearing glam outfits, but a funny thing happens halfway through—she disguises herself as a man, with short hair and a suit, and then stays that way long after she really needed to, right up to the action climax. She flirts with Moneypenny, checks out the ass of the waitress, and smokes a stogie. There’s only two people who can come close to her level of cool—one is Tang Ching, a playboy bachelor who has enough gadgets in his apartment to qualify it as a lair. He’s like Batman if Bruce Wayne didn’t bother with playing dress up. They team up against the other, Shen Yi, who leads the Bomb Gang with a theatrical villain flair.” -
Wonggifs – ★★★½
“Sequel to the mostly terrible Bond rip-off Angel With the Iron Fists, a film that managed to squander Lily Ho in the most boring film ever to feature an underground supervillain lair. Thankfully, this movie cuts the running time to around 95 minutes and seriously ups the action quotient. The action’s not great, but there are some fun moments, including a restaurant brawl, a bunch of dastardly traps, and an at-times hilarious cameo from director Lo Wei. The most interesting part of this film, and I insist I am not joking, is Lily Ho crossdressing for the entire second half. It’s somehow played 100% straight (pun intended) and she kicks ass.” -
Film Blitz – ★★½
“It has much the same weaknesses as its predecessor. There’s a good chunk of time where 009 all but vanishes from her own movie, with the spotlight instead being given over to her ally Deng Lei. There are certainly far too many scenes of people sitting around in nightclubs, or of one set of suits chasing another set of suits around the streets of Hong Kong. Deng ends up captured by Xiang Xiang, leading to a predictable but decently choreographed rescue operation.”
