Reviews from Letterboxd:

  1. Sophie Farrell – ★★★☆☆
“The Murder Clinic is often noted as being an early film in the Giallo genre, which would dominate the Italian film industry throughout the 1970s. Ernesto Gastaldi and Luciano Martino, who wrote the script, would go on to write several of the most famous Giallo films. While it is often noted for being one of the films that helped to define the style of the Giallo, The Murder Clinic is more of a hybrid of period gothic horror and Giallo, reminiscent in tone of the work of Mario Bava. However, despite having several interesting elements, I sadly felt that The Murder Clinic never really came together as a satisfying whole for me.”
  2. Slig001 – ★★★½☆
“An early proto-Giallo that takes obvious influence from Blood and Black Lace, Gothic horror and Krimi films. As the title suggests, Murder Clinic focuses on a series of murders at a clinic. The film is set in England in 1870 and really goes in hard with the Gothic atmosphere. The ornate sets and use of colour are just great – it’s the sort of location made to measure for a stalking caped razor blade killer.”
  3. nikki – ★★★☆☆
“The Murder Clinic is a 1966 horror giallo film directed by Lionello De Felice which follows patients and staff of an isolated mental hospital who are being killed off by a hooded maniac who stalks the halls.”
