Reviews from Letterboxd

  1. Elric Kane – ★★★☆☆
“This is a really fun film which would get a whole extra star if a fan edit would remove the goofy fat cop stuff that completely ruins the tone of the film. Chuck is super charming in this and the killer is actually creepy as hell.”

  2. Marty McKee – ★★★★☆
“With slasher movies all the rage, Columbia enlisted chopsocky star Chuck Norris for this action-oriented horror film influenced by the Frankenstein legend… While Silent Rage falls confidently into the horror/slasher genre, it works effectively as an action vehicle for Norris. … The film’s highlight is a midpoint barroom brawl between Norris and a couple dozen bikers.”

  3. Joseph Mello – ★★½☆☆
“This was unknown to me until a podcast covered it (Kill By Kill). It is definitely like Chuck Norris vs Michael Myers, with a sci-fi angle… Is it good? I dunno. It is interesting, in that early 80s way. But there are stretches that feel like any tension is just gone. A remake could be interesting.”

  4. Ira Brooker – ★★½☆☆
“After mentally ill yokel Brian Libby commits a couple of axe murders, he gets Weapon X-ed into an unkillable rage monster by mad scientist Steven Keats … Meanwhile, a Chuck Norris cop movie happens. … Still, this is all dumb enough to make for an entertaining watch, and Libby is pretty creepy as our undead villain. Mildly endorsed.”

  5. Cammmalot – ★★☆☆☆
“Cinematic Time Capsule 1982 Marathon – Film #36. I don’t care if he killed 100 people! We are scientists not moralists! … Well, Michael my Meyers and call me Frankenstein, if it isn’t an 80’s slasher film starring Chuck Norris, Texas Sheriff! Actually, I could go on and on about how weird and unbalanced this is, but I think just the fact that Mr. Norris never worked on another slasher movie again tells you everything you need to know.”
