Reviews from Letterboxd:
-
Johnny Pomatto — ★★★★
“Great way to kick it off… a fantastic film. Brilliant move to have a ‘final girl’ in the house across the street who wasn’t even invited to the party.” -
Michael Glover Smith — ★★★½
“A fascinating relic of a bygone era … the very best of the post-Halloween slashers, not only for its feminist critique but for its goofy humor and warmth.” -
Spencer — ★★★½
“Not a very good horror movie but an extremely charming and funny teen hangout movie, which shockingly gets you most of the way there anyways.” -
Sean Baker — ★★★★
“Extremely underrated feminist slasher. Classic in my opinion.” -
Freyr Patron — ★★★
“There’s enough humor and charm here to make the film endearing, though it rarely exceeds the expectations I had for a low-budget slasher.”
Meta Description: A cult 1982 slasher from Amy Holden Jones and Rita Mae Brown that turns a high-school pajama party into a power-drill nightmare, blending teen hang-out vibes with feminist subversion and ’80s gore.
