Angel of Darkness 3 (1996)

Reviews from Letterboxd:

Kaijuman – ★★★☆☆
“The lone survivor of the last film exists just long enough to expel the demon into a nurse then dies. Then we’re back to basics with a body-hopping lust demon raping nubile schoolgirls! If it ain’t broke don’t fix it I say.”

BjorkShandy – ★★½
“Hattori is back in the director’s chair and the film surprisingly carries on where the previous film left off. Angel of Darkness 3 is easily the weakest entry so far and lacks a lot of the goofy charm that made the previous two films so enjoyable.”

Reviews from Letterboxd:

Kaijuman – ★★★½
“Out of all of these films, this one feels the most like an actual film, with effort and everything. This is full of sepia-colored flashbacks, multicolored lighting, moody fog-filled scenes, and an actual plot with a mystery to unravel.”

BjorkShandy – ★★
“It’s a slow, meandering slog of a film to get through that has god-awful editing and repetitive flashbacks that add nothing we haven’t already seen 10 times before.”

“It’s finally time to finish out this journey of sleazy tentacle r@pe films! It’s been a beautiful ride.”

  2. BjorkShandy – ★★½
“I can see people either loving or hating this one. I appreciate that Shimizu is trying to do something different and to an extent it kind of works but the film is just so all over the place in terms of both tone and pacing.”

  3. cwardwel – ★★★☆☆
