Reviews from Letterboxd:
- morrigan1982 – ★★★☆☆
“I really love good J-horror movies. It gives a claustrophobic sense, like wherever you go whatever you do you surely can’t escape. The world is so big but becomes so small at the same time. I love that they don’t depend so much on special effects. But this is not the case. It is not a bad movie. It just leaves you indifferent. There are three actresses who take part in a reality – documentary exorcism.”
- SilentDawn – ★★★☆☆
“Far from the skin-crawling unease of Koji Shiraishi’s previous found footage films, Cult is a lean abruptly-paced spookfest elevated by memorable entities and unfolding as a series of exorcism rites versus spirit attacks inside a single house. It’s fun, but not much else.”
- Chris – ★★★☆☆
“A fun found footage film from the director of Noroi: The Curse. While it doesn’t reach the heights of that film, it’s still an enjoyable watch with some genuinely creepy moments.”
