Plot Synopsis:
Tulipe is an elderly gardener and amateur painter living quietly in an old railway carriage near Paris. Behind his unassuming exterior, however, he has a secret talent for counterfeiting small denomination banknotes to supplement his modest income. When his godson Noël discovers the operation, Noël’s ambitious girlfriend Hilda sees an opportunity for a much larger fortune and encourages Tulipe to start producing higher value notes. Their plans for easy wealth soon become complicated when Tulipe befriends a wealthy playboy and finds himself drawn into an unexpectedly luxurious new life.
